ABOUT HANNAH E. MULLINS SCHOOL OF PRACTICAL NURSING

The Hannah E. Mullins School of Practical Nursing is a 44 week full time program that prepares the graduate to sit for the NCLEX-PN licensing exam. This license can be transferred to any state.

The curriculum focuses on nursing care of individuals from pediatrics through geriatrics and includes IV therapy and medication administration. Theory courses and clinical experiences are offered Monday through Friday during the day with an occasional weekend or afternoon experience.

Employment opportunities continue to be plentiful in hospitals, long-term care facilities, physician offices, schools, and home health care agencies etc.

Licensed graduates are also qualified for admission into an associate or baccalaureate nursing program for the opportunity to become a registered nurse.

The program is fully accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing as well as the Ohio Department of Education.

Students are admitted twice a year in the spring and fall. Applicants must take the A.C.T.WorkKeys pre-entrance test. A medical terminology course is required and is offered in July and January each year at the school.

Admission is on a first come first serve basis without discrimination in regard to creed, ethnic origin, marital status, race, sex, age, religion, membership or non-membership in any lawful organizations, and disability that does not interfere with attainment of course, clinical, and program objectives.

Financial assistance is available to qualifying students through Title IV funding, and other grants and loans. Applicants are encouraged to begin the financial aid process at the local One Stop Office.

HEMSPN is proud to announce it has once again been awarded full accreditation by the NLNAC and full approval by the Ohio Board of Nursing.

Program Outcome: Class of August 2012 has reached 100% NCLEX-PN pass rate and 100% job placement within 6 months of licensure.

The mission of the Hannah E. Mullins School of Practical Nursing is to provide high quality nursing education so that, once licensed, graduates may enter the workplace as competent practitioners and/or pursue higher education in nursing. This mission is accomplished through evidenced based nursing theory and community partnerships for clinical experience and observation.
